* Still life photography usually depicts inanimate subject matter, typically commonplace objects which may be either natural or man-made.
* Food photography can be used for editorial, packaging or advertising use. Food photography is similar to still life photography, but requires some special skills.

* Portrait and wedding photography: photographs made and sold directly to the end user of the images.

PACKAGING CATEGORIES:
PA01 - Display/POP
|
|
A product display near a cash register or checkstand designed to encourage impulse buying, usually provided by the manufacturer or any display inside a store created to increase interest in the store's products. Can also include window displays.

PA03 - Food & Beverage Packaging
|
|
Packaging that has been designed/created specifically for food or beverage items. Wine and liquor bottle would fall in this category.

PA04 - Health & Beauty Packaging
|
|
Packaging designed/created for the Health & Beauty industry. Can include perfume, personal care, hygiene, make up, first aid, etc.
|
|
PA05 - Home & Garden Packaging
|
|
Packaging designed/created for a product to be used in a home or garden environment. Can include anything from window treatments to insecticide bottles.

PA06 - Industrial Packaging
|
|
The protective wrapping and boxing of finished industrial goods for shipment. Most common example would be a form of clamshell packaging. This category would also include packaging designed with special security features.

PA07 - Medical & Drug Packaging
|
|
Packaging specifically designed/created to a medical industry or drug related item. Pharmaceuticals would fall in this category.

|
|
Any menu and or winelist can be submitted into this category. Point of Sale signage can also be included but is eligible for the Sign Category.

PA11 - Retail Packaging
|
|
Any packaging designed/created for a consumer targeted product. These items can also be submitted into the more specific industry categories if desired.

PA12 - Video/CD/DVD Packaging
|
|
Packaging specifically designed/created for videos, cds or dvds. Does not apply to the interface - only the packaging encasing the disc or in some cases the disc itself.

A comprehensive report on a company's activities throughout the preceding year. Annual reports are intended to give shareholders and other interested people information about the company's activities and financial performance. Only printed versions of an Annual Report should be submitted to this category. Entry will be judged on printed quality, presentation of information, design elements, photography and typography if applicable.

A panel for the display of advertisements in public places, such as alongside highways or on the sides of buildings and/or the advertisement or message posted on such a panel. Entry should consist of 1 message - a series or multiple billboards conveying the same message should be submitted under the Campaign category. Entry will be judged on design elements, layout, photography and typography if applicable.

All three of these objectives are geared toward increasing revenues from the given product or service.

Some style guides focus on graphic design, focusing on such topics as typography and white space. Web site style guides cover a publication's visual and technical aspects, along with text.

Some examples include the design and planning of sign programs, wayfinding consulting, exhibit and interpretive design, entertainment environments, retail design, information design including maps, as well as memorial and donor recognition programs.

PR32 - Trade Show or Exhibition Displays/Graphics

A trade show display consists of the physical screens, banners and other paraphernalia used to fill a temporary stall or booth at a trade fair or convention. The displays vary greatly in size, cost and complexity, but all are designed to visually represent a specific interest. Companies typically rent exhibit space from show organizers and then, design trade show displays to attract the attention of visitors and attendees at the trade show. Trade show displays usually use bold images and catch phrases, in an attempt to lure attendees to their exhibit space, so that they can give a sales pitch or hand out brochures.
