The gift market is tough, but never as competitive as it is during the holiday gift-giving season. Skincare products brand Jurlique asked New York's Acosta Design to create a colorful holiday line as a departure from its traditional white packaging and also to reflect the "organic life force" of its plant-based products while also adhering to strict environmental requirements. Inspired by Jurlique's lavender, rose and tangerine ingredients sourced from a biodynamic farm in southern Australia, "we incorporated images and textures of the plant-based ingredients to create a rich, deeply colored painting-like effect, with each box set having its own vibrant color," the agency says. The producers then worked with a sustainable printing company to ensure the packaging was made according to certified sustainable forestry methods, with all recycled and recyclable materials, soy ink and 100% wind power. Acosta's elegant design and Jurlique's good scents combined to create, in the end, an effective and environmentally friendly gift.
